What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
My Story
I'm Tamica Foots-Rachal, founder of FFWD with Foots.
For years, I worked in state government in emergency preparedness and disability services program management. In that work, I saw the same gap over and over: communities that needed usable, real-world emergency preparedness education weren't getting it — especially the people who needed it most.
That gap became my mission. I spent my career upskilling on the latest in preparedness and pairing it with my expertise in curriculum development and design, so that hard-to-reach communities aren't just handed information — they get the chance to practice what they learn before an emergency ever happens. Since retiring from state service in 2023, this is the work I've committed myself to fully: partnering with communities of color, people with disabilities, and everyone in between to build real readiness, not just awareness.
What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
